We understand the importance of certifications, because they ensure appropriate standards relating to sustainable and social responsibility. That is why we aspire to use materials and suppliers that are certified. Unfortunately we do not have certifications for our final products yet.
OCS 100 The hemp-organic cotton blend which we use for the shirts is certified by the OSC 100 – Organic Content Standard. This certification verifies that a product is made from between 95 to 100% organic material and tracks the flow of the raw material from its source to the final product. The aim of the certification is to ensure trust in organic content claims. GOTS guarantees at least 70% of organic cotton and therefore the woven fabric does not meet the requirements.
GOTS The organic cotton, which we use for the skirts and surfponchos are certified by GOTS – Global Organic Textile Standard. The hemp fabric, which we also use for surfponchos, comply with controlled organic cultivation and is dyed with GOTS compliant harmless colours. In addition, we sew only with GOTS certified yarns or yarns produced in Germany according to their guidelines. They are free of pollutants, environmentally friendly, fair and sustainable. GOTS is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria. It covers the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labelling, trading and distribution of the entire textile supply chain.
Fair Wear Foundation It is possible to make clothes in a fairer way. The suppliers of the hemp-organic cotton blend used for the shirts were one of the first members of the Fair Wear Foundation. The foundation strives to improve working conditions in the clothing industry.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 The beanies and scarfs are made from ecological dyed yarns certified by the OEKO-TEX Standard 100. We also use certified labels. They contain at least 50% recycled yarns. The standard is known for textiles tested for harmful substances through all processing stages.
Woolmark The Merino wool which we use for the beanies and scarfs is certified by Woolmark. The certification ensures the quality of pure wool fibres from ethical and environmentally friendly farming.
